As the September 30, 2017 deadline to withdraw from fall term and fall/winter courses approaches, the Registrar’s Office and the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs want you to be aware of an important change to the Graduate Calendar which may have an impact on your decision to withdraw by the deadline.

Section 10.2 of the Graduate Calendar has been updated and approved by Senate. These changes apply to all calendar years and to all.Graduate students. Please take a moment to review these changes, but in summary:

In summary, for courses starting September 1, 2017 and beyond, students who withdraw after the full fee adjustment date (e.g. after September 30, 2017 for Fall 2017) will have a grade notation of WDN (Withdrawn) for that course appear on their official and unofficial Carleton University transcripts.

  • Previously, courses withdrawn after the full fee adjustment date did not have WDN grades appear on their transcripts.
  • This change is not retroactive – meaning, WDN grades will not appear on courses taken prior to September 1, 2017.

In addition to the University Calendars, these changes are detailed on the Registrar’s website.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs for more information.
