PhD student Christine Streeter was just awarded a $1,000 scholarship from Credit Counseling Services of Canada, Inc.
It’s the first time this scholarship has been awarded. “We saw this as a great opportunity to help students struggling with debt and aimed to help with the costs of higher education like tuition and books,” says the award notice.
Streeter beat out several other contenders from all over Canada.
“This scholarship will help support me to pursue my doctoral studies in social work and political economy,” says Streeter. “It will also allow me to continue to share my experience as a PhD student through my blog.”
