Deadline – Apply to Graduate at Fall Convocation

Sept. 1  is the deadline for online applications to graduate for fall (November) 2014.  You need to apply online by going to Carleton Central.  The form is under the section entitled  “Student Online Applications”.

Important Dates & Deadlines


Aug. 25 – Payment deadline date for your entire student account. Click here for important payment information. Late charges may be applied to the student account any time after this date.

Aug. 30-31 – Residence move in weekend. Students will be advised in July of their assigned move in date.

Sept. 1Last day for receipt of applications from potential fall (November) graduates. Note that Sept. 1 is also a Statutory Holiday. University is closed.

Sept. 2 – Fall Term Begins. Orientation for Teaching Assistants AND new graduate students.

Sept. 3 – Many departments host their own orientation sessions on this date.

Sept. 4 – Fall and fall/winter classes begin.

Sept. 17 – Last day of registration for fall term and fall/winter courses. Last day to change courses or sections (including auditing) for fall/winter and fall term courses. Students who have not deposited (via automated upload) the final copy of their thesis to the office of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs must register.

Sept. 26-28 – Summer deferred final examinations to be held.

Sept. 30 – Last day to withdraw from Fall term and Fall/Winter courses with a full fee adjustment. Withdrawals after this date will create no financial change to Fall term fees (financial withdrawal).

Dec. 1 – Deadline  to hand in applications to depts. for a 2015-16 Ontario Graduate Scholarship  (Application form not yet available)

TheGraduate@Carleton is produced by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs for all graduate students. This newsletter includes news, grad student research stories, and important date information of interest to graduate students. It is distributed twice a month during the fall and winter terms and monthly during the summer term.
