Important Dates & Deadlines

TRAINING & CAREER WORKSHOPS

Jan. 23  Deadline for upper year PhD students to register for  EDC’s Preparing to Teach certificate.

Check out our professional development training opportunities on the Grad Navigate website. New workshops are being added on a regular basis. Click on the following five bullets for current training opportunities. TAs can count these sessions towards their training hours.

ACADEMIC DEADLINES

Nov. 25 Final Payment Deadline. Click here for important payment information. Late charges may be applied to the student account any time after this date.

Dec. 1 Last day for receipt of applications from potential winter (February) graduates.

Dec. 1 Last day to upload the EXAMINATION copy of your Master’s or PhD thesis for your thesis defence in order to graduate this winter (Feb.).

Dec. 8 Last day of fall term classes

Dec. 8  Last day for academic withdrawal from fall term courses

Dec. 8 Last day to pay any remaining fall tuition fees to avoid a hold on access to marks through Carleton Central and the release of transcripts and other official documents

Dec. 9 No classes or exams take place

Dec. 10-21  Final exams in fall term courses and mid-term exams in fall/winter courses may be held. Exams are normally held all seven days of the week.

Dec. 25-Jan. 2 University closed for the holidays.

Jan. 16 Students who have not deposited (via automated upload) the FINAL copy of their thesis to the office of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs by this date must register and will not be eligible to graduate this winter (Feb.).

Jan. 16   Last day for registration for winter term courses.

Dec. 1 Deadline to complete the application for a Tri-Council (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR) 2015-16 Master’s award

Dec. 1 – Deadline to hand in applications to depts. for a 2015-16 Ontario Graduate Scholarship

Dec. 1  Deadline to apply for a Women’s Health Scholars Award

Dec. 1 Deadline to apply for a Mitacs Research Award – Inria

Dec. 3 Deadline to apply for a Gates Cambridge award

Dec. 15  Final deadline for PhD students to apply for a Graduate Research and Innovative Thinking (GRIT) award

Jan. 9  Deadline to apply for a Graduate Student Open Access Award

Feb. 1  Deadline to apply for a Mackenzie King Travelling/Open Scholarship

Feb. 2 –Deadline to apply to the Fulbright Arctic Initiative program

March 6 Deadline for nominations for Outstanding TA Awards

April 22, 2015 Application Deadline for the RBC Scholarship in Water Research
