The Graduate Students’ Association is calling on any graduate students interested in running for positions in the 2015/2016 Graduate Students’ Association and/or graduate student positions on the Senate and Graduate Faculty Board.

*Graduate student representatives on the Senate must have been enrolled as full- or part-time graduate students in the academic year in which they are elected and during their tenure on the Senate. Graduate student representatives must also maintain the academic status of Good Standing throughout their tenure.
**Anyone who wishes to run for a position or campaign in a referendum or plebiscite is not allowed to begin campaigning until March 17. Candidates and referendum or plebiscite campaign committees are expected to attend the all-candidates meeting and must abide by the election rules as established by the GSA Constitution, By-Laws, and the Electoral Board.

Poll Clerk Hiring
If you are not interested in running for a position but would like to be involved in the electoral process, the GSA will also be hiring Poll Clerks. Please drop off resumes at the GSA office or send them via email to by noon on Tuesday March 17, 2015. Poll clerks will be remunerated at $14/hour.

Important Dates & Deadlines


Check out our remaining winter term professional development training opportunities on the Grad Navigate website TAs can count these sessions towards their training hours.

You will note these Mitacs workshops: Skills of Communication (March 12) & Networking Skills (March 24).

You can always access online training through Please note that these training modules do not count towards paid training hours for TAs.



March 6  Last day to submit, to the Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities, Formal Examination Accommodation Forms for April examinations.

March 24  Last day to pay any remaining balance on your Student Account.  An account balance may delay Summer 2015 course selection.

March 25  Carleton Central opens at 8:30 a.m. for registration for Carleton University degree students (graduate and undergraduate).

April 3 Statutory holiday, University closed.

April 8  Last day of fall/winter and winter-term classes.

April 8 – Last day for academic withdrawal from fall/winter and winter-term courses.

April 8 Last day for handing in term work and the last day that can be specified by a course instructor as a due date for term work for fall/winter and winter-term courses.

April 9-10  No classes or exams take place

April 11-23  Final examinations in winter term and fall/winter courses may be held. Examinations are normally held all 7 days of the week.
