Want some tips on writing your dissertation?

headshot of Eric JardineEric Jardine, a PhD candidate in the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton, recently posted a five-part series on his thoughts on how to get from a prospectus to a finished draft.

His best suggestion to those struggling with the thesis process is to make your struggles public. “The best methods are writing and talking to colleagues, both of which take any given Gordian Knot of an idea and force you to think it through in a way that others can provide feedback. Fresh eyes on intractable problems have a remarkable effect on lucidity and productivity.”
